Exquisite TDIH for sure. This show is in my top 5 all time and I have always loved it. So many standouts in a true mammoth show. Raise your glasses to this outstanding effort by the boys on this day in history!! Also gotta give it up to Dennis for mentioning this fine show in his movie, ‘I Need More Shows” . I watched it again today and it still makes me laugh! Cheers..

Love the cover there, great work ..... good show indeed. Best GSET of the year? Also a rippin Sugar Mag. And didn't Dick L single out the jam around TOO as something in the best ever category? I wouldn't go that far, but it's good stuff

Can not get over how mellow some tunes from this date are. The Birdsong and P.I.T.B. standout in particular for their easy going laid back chilled vibe. Where they sitting on Lazy boys for those two? Just when I think I have heard every version and thought they where all just almost a little to similar in style, I hear these, and then shake my head in disgust. I am constantly surprised at their ability to just blow my mind with their extraordinary craftsmanship of playing these tunes with such simpatico. Damn you archive for making me listen to these! Damn you!

Glad to see someone else comment on the Playin'. I think it's my favorite of 1973, and really a favorite of all-time. If I could only have one version of the song, at least from the 72-74 period, this would be the one. Of course there are dozens of versions I really like, but there's something about the mood on this one, Jerry's dreamy wah-wah meandering through some of the band's best playing makes for a really nice listening experience. There's less frenetic 72ish buildups and more textual shifts in pace and tone.

Something about the deliberacy (is that a word? perhaps "the deliberate nature of the playing" is better) of the jamming on the 2/26/77 version reminds me of 6/22's version.

The infamous six, twenty-two, seventy-three that causes divorce!

Skobud, we both went for a serene blue feel for the covers, which works well - except, your covers are bigger than mine. That raises concern for me..... ;)

It's interesting to see the alternative tracking here. I usually don't like to dissect the jams heavily, but it sure helps convey the epic-ness contained herein. Did I make a mistake by putting JBG at end the of disc 2?????? It wouldn't fit in the jewel case otherwise!

Would be fun to redo the matrix with ultra pristine, non-Bird-Song-hacked-up sources..... Ultra-pristine.

I never mix the tracks like that hunter, probably because of my OCD when it comes to all things GD. I had that in my notes when I made this cover that the encore would fit on the end of disc 2, I just couldnt do it. I still cant believe its been about two years since I made this cover..Time flies, right?

EDIT - Also the design of the fractal was my interpretation of how cool I thought this show was/is. So cool its freezing up. The whole ice crystal formation thing, basic building blocks for nature.

Is there a place where we can access your guys covers? They are pretty sweet.

Also, what program do you use to make these?

Without a doubt a true beast from start to finish. Has one of my all-time fave Birdsong's amongst many, many others. Thanks for the reminder, has been too long since I gave my car's audio system a workout with this one. Commute home is going to dangerous.

And it's our obsessive nature to preserve the music in its entirety that the fifth disc is for a single song.
